Volunteer with One Family Illinois

Make an Impact in Your Community

Volunteers are the heart of our mission. By sharing your time and talents, you help create safe spaces for children to grow, empower families to thrive, and strengthen the neighborhoods we call home. Whether you can give a few hours or a few days a month, your support matters.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

In-Person Tutors
Children in foster care often face educational gaps due to instability. As a tutor, you’ll provide one-on-one academic support to help them catch up and build confidence. Tutors must complete a background check, TB test, and show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Event Volunteer
Support our community events by helping with logistics, setup, and guest engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals or groups looking to give back in a meaningful, hands-on way. Interested in supporting at one of our community events? Email us!
Guest Speakers
Bring our mission to your school, company, or community group. Our speakers, including staff, board members, and passionate volunteers, share powerful stories that inspire involvement and raise awareness.

How to Get Started

Becoming a volunteer is a thoughtful and intentional process that ensures the safety of everyone involved, especially the children in our care. Our volunteers undergo extensive background checks, screenings, and comprehensive training to ensure the well-being of our children. Please note that these processes may delay your start date as a volunteer.
